The market began in 1998, after a community effort led by La Jolla Elementary School parents and supporters. What started with 14 farmers and one artisan has grown into a weekly gathering with 120+ vendors.
Market proceeds benefit La Jolla Elementary School, helping fund art, music, library, technology, campus improvements, and additional classroom support.
The result is both a serious market and a neighborhood ritual: shoppers can buy produce, flowers, prepared food, and handmade goods while directly supporting programs for local students.
